Open Science & Open Access
The course offers an introduction to Open Science and Open Access publishing.
Open Science is an integral part of good scientific practice. The course Open Science Fundamentals and Open Access introduces the core principles of Open Science and explores what Open Science means for early-career researchers, academic careers, and the assessment of research performance.
Futhermore it provides a practical overview of Open Access publishing, including funding opportunities, the green route via repositories, and Read & Publish agreements. It also highlights how Open Access applies to dissertations and how to avoid predatory journals. Participants are invited to bring along their own cases.
The course is part of the multi-session program Open Science Unlocked and is offered within the framework of the Zentrum für Lernen, Lehren und Forschen (ZLLF) at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. The target audience includes researchers from Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, the University of Lucerne, and Lucerne University of Teacher Education.
The course will be held in English. However, it is possible to ask questions in German.
