Holdings at Uni/PH Building

With over 90,000 printed books, more than 300 journal subscriptions and numerous licensed databases and e-book packages, the legal collection covers current research as well as foundational, study and specialised literature.

Publications on Swiss law are collected as completely as possible, while publications on the law of neighbouring countries (Germany, Austria, France, Italy and Liechtenstein) as well as Anglo-American legal systems (USA and Great Britain) are collected selectively.

All volumes of Swiss journals acquired in Lucerne are shelved on site. Only the last ten years of foreign journals are housed in the Uni/PH building. Older volumes and legal works are in the Cooperative Storage Library in Büron and can be ordered from all ZHB locations.

Holdings at Sempacherstrasse

The main focus of the collection at our library Sempacherstrasse offered to the general public is primarily on standard works on Swiss law.

In the reading room on the ground floor, there is a selection of commentaries, legal texts, sample letters, and legal dictionaries. Additionally, some journals of general interest are displayed in the journal rack.

In the open-access area on the 3rd floor, you can find guidebooks for legal laymen, textbooks, review materials, and legal information brochures.
