As part of the Swiss National Open Access Strategy, a delegation from swissuniversities is negotiating new agreements with the major scientific publishers including publishing in Open Access at no additional cost. Such "Read&Publish" agreements already exist with five publishers. In addition to the Open Access publishing option, all agreements offer read access to the content of the publisher.
The agreement covers articles by members of a Swiss higher education institution submitted from 1 January 2020. All journals published directly by Elsevier are included (list). For society journals and "The Lancet", the agreement is limited to read access.
