The management and reusability of research data during and after the research project are being promoted by good organisation and documentation of the data.
The organisation of research data is particularly based on establishing appropriate data file and folder structures. The name of the data and where the data is being stored is decisive in terms of the reproducability of research findings and the reusability of research data. It is recommended to evaluate the organisation of research data thoroughly and stick to a once established file and folder structure.
Inspite of research data being well structured, such data can be useless in terms of their reproducibility and reuse, if they are not being documented adequately. Documentation of research data provides information on the applied research method and on how the research data were collected, observed and generated, as well as on their metadata.
